Mühlbach lies at the gateway to South Tyrol’s Pustertal Valley and has been a market township since the year 1269. The ancient walls, residences and town houses are a visible indication of this. The town has always been located on an important communications route and has developed and changed considerably over the years. In spite of its advantageous transport links, Mühlbach is pleasantly peaceful with pedestrians ambling through the centre of the town, shopping or dropping into the nearest cafe to enjoy an Italian Espresso.
