Our initiatives in the areas of energy, resources and mobility

With the measures described, we aim to use resources more consciously in our day-to-day hotel operations.

The Huber family hotel looks back on over 120 years of history and six generations - a living testimony to timeless hospitality and sustainable commitment. This tradition obliges us to offer our guests unforgettable experiences and at the same time contribute to future generations. Sustainability is at the centre of this: Among other measures, we use our own photovoltaic system, heat recovery from refrigeration systems, and a wood-chip heating system.
We carefully separate waste, train our employees accordingly, and use refillable products in selected areas.

Historic charm, reimagined for today

Our close connection to the region is an integral part of our philosophy. Tradition and concrete measures, such as regional sourcing, renewable energy generation and heat recovery, shape the way we operate. For selected product categories, we work with farmers and producers from the region.

For over 25 years, we have been heating our homes with wood chips sourced from the region.
In selected areas, we are replacing single-use products with refillable solutions.
When carrying out refurbishments, we favour materials such as wood and stone wherever technically feasible.
Heat recovery: We use the waste heat from the cooling systems to heat the pools.
Our guests decide for themselves how often the towels are changed, and the rooms are cleaned.
We work with local partners in a number of areas, including the sourcing of our potatoes, which come from the Schallerhof in Natz, and our ice cream, which is produced and supplied by Eis.Werk.Statt Hiesig near Sterzing.

We use our own photovoltaic system to generate energy
In the kitchen, an automatic system controls electricity consumption.
The heating is controlled separately in each room and the lighting is time controlled
The water from the whirl pool is stored in an insulated storage tank overnight to minimise heat loss. The following day, it is pumped back into the pool.
We carefully separate waste in the hotel and train our staff in this respect
Our guests can use public transport throughout South Tyrol free of charge
Our digital guest folder replaces the printed version: All information about the ski and mountain pasture region, external partners and the weekly programme can be accessed digitally at any time

South Tyrol Sustainability Label

The Huber Family Hotel holds the South Tyrol Level 3 sustainability label. According to the official South Tyrol entry, the holistic measures at this level are in line with the GSTC criteria.
