Hosts who are honoured for this every year

The foundation stone for our hotel in South was laid in 1508. Until the 17th century, the Huberhof was owned by the Neustift monastery. It was built as a pair farm: The residential house and farm buildings are two separate buildings (as opposed to a single farm), but they are close to each other. The monastery lords initially gave the farm as a fief to the Huber family and eventually sold it to them. Since then, the farm and the associated inn have borne the name Huberhof.

Our passion - as individual as we are

Simon is an absolute cheese lover and, as a trained chef, attaches great importance to high-quality cuisine.
Franz is a great wine lover and loves hiking. His wine tastings and guided family hikes in the most beautiful landscapes of South Tyrol are absolute favourites for many guests.
Edith is the good soul of the house and has a special knack for looking after guests and decorating the house.
Brigitte welcomes our guests at reception with a warm smile. Making everyone feel at home is very important to her. As a passionate hiker and skier, she provides our guests with the best tips.

The Huberhof as a family property

There is evidence that the Huberhof has been owned by our family since 1842.

First guests at the Gasthof Huber

The first guests came to the Gasthof Huber in Vals in 1961. With the construction of the ski lifts, the installation of central heating in the rooms and the construction of the road from Mühlbach to Vals, tourism in the valley and our hotel have continued to develop: The inn developed into the Hotel Huber, run by Franz and Edith Stolz.

Founding member of Familienhotels Südtirol

In 1997 we co-founded the Familienhotels Südtirol as a founding member and have specialised in families ever since. Also in 1997, we developed our hotel in Vals into the Familienhotel Huber. We have also been a member of Familotel since 2003.

Host family Stolz

Simon and his wife Brigitte are now the sixth generation of the family to run the Hotel Huber, together with Simon's parents Franz and Edith.
With great attention to detail, they focus on the wishes and needs of their guests and continue to develop the Hotel Huber from season to season, from year to year, together with their unbeatable team that has been loyal to them for years.
